We are a volunteer community group that started in 2007 with the aim to have a safe harbour and a daily ferry service between Portarlington and Melbourne.
We played a key role in
- lobbying the State Government to construct the safe harbour
- sourcing a business to run a daily ferry service
The safe harbour was officially opened in February 2018 and the ferry fully operational from November 2016.
We advocated for both a safe harbour and a commuter ferry service and then for improvements so we have the best services for anyone who uses the harbour or the ferry.
We worked closely with Parks Victoria and Port Phillip Ferries.
Our work is now done and we are proud of what we achieved.
